Overview
Translate Genie is a desktop application. We are committed to your privacy and have designed the app to minimize the data we collect. This policy explains what information is processed when you use Translate Genie.
Your Documents
Translation documents you submit through the app are sent to Microsoft Azure AI Translator for processing. We do not store your document content on our servers. Translated output files are saved locally on your device in your application data folder and are never uploaded to our infrastructure. Microsoft's privacy practices apply to text processed through Azure — see Microsoft's Privacy Statement for details.
License Keys
When you activate or use Translate Genie, your license key is sent to our server to verify its validity and track usage against your plan's limits (requests and characters). No personally identifiable information is stored alongside your license — only your organization name as provided at purchase, your usage counters, and your plan type.
Bug Reports
If you submit a bug report through the app, the title, description, and optional email address you provide are sent to and stored on our server. Bug reports are used solely for the purpose of diagnosing and fixing issues with the software.
What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect analytics or usage telemetry from the app.
- We do not track your device, IP address, or browsing behavior.
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
License records are retained for as long as your license is active. Bug reports are retained until resolved and purged. Translated files stored locally are under your full control and can be deleted at any time from your device.
